2026 Autism Speaks Empowerment Walk

With over 1K participants, the 2026 Columbus, Ohio Autism 5K Run & Walk was more than just a event. It was an experience of love, support, and community! Vendors from all over the city came together to offer resources for those on the spectrum and the ones that love them. Check out some of the highlights!

2026 Regional Special Olympics

Way to go Jaguar Track athletes! Nehemiah placed 5th in the Regionals for the state of Ohio. He was a bit upset for not finishing first, but it was a great opportunity to teach effort over accomplishment!

Autism Awareness Day 2026

On April 26, 2026, Nehemiah's Place™ participated in The City of Zion Church's Autism Awareness Day. We offered education and resources to the community, which included therapy options, assessment locations, crisis intervention and qualifying programs for school aged children on the spectrum.

Nehemiah gained a friend!

He graciously blessed him with one of his sensory toys!

About The City of Zion Church

Located at 527 Wilson Road (Columbus, Ohio), The City of Zion Church is a place of restoration, encouragement and upliftment.  Pastor Elgin D. Orton originated from Columbus, Ohio born to Deacon Matthew and Lenora Orton. E.D.O. accepted the call to salvation very early, only to later begin his ministry at the tender age of seven, not even realizing the impact that the early start would have on his destiny. E. D. O. received direct mentorship from that point on from his grandfather the late Rev. James Walter Mitchell of whom he would later fill his shoes in pastoring the Zion Hill Baptist Church, later to become The City of Zion. Services are Sundays at 8:30 A.M. and 10:30 A.M.
