SUPPORT OUR MISSION

Our Vision

Transparency is just as essential for nonprofit organizations as it is for for-profit businesses. Nonprofits depend on the trust and support of donors, volunteers, and the communities they serve. By operating transparently, they demonstrate their commitment to their mission, ensure accountability for the resources entrusted to them, and build strong, lasting relationships with stakeholders.

Openly sharing information about programs, outcomes, and financial management allows nonprofit organizations to show how contributions are being used responsibly and effectively. This openness inspires confidence, reinforces ethical stewardship, and strengthens donor trust. Transparency also encourages collaboration within the nonprofit sector, allowing organizations to learn from one another, share best practices, and collectively expand their impact on society.

In addition, transparency helps nonprofits meet their obligations to regulatory agencies, donors, and beneficiaries. Clear and accessible reporting supports compliance with legal requirements such as tax filings and public disclosures, while also equipping donors with the information needed to make informed decisions. Honest communication about governance, financial stewardship, and measurable impact fosters credibility and sustained engagement.

By prioritizing transparency, nonprofit organizations enhance their integrity, build stronger community relationships, and advance their mission in a way that promotes trust, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

Nehemiah's Place™ relies heavily on donations and sponsorships from organizations, businesses, corporations, agencies, groups, and individuals to serve our community with no cost to the public. Raising a child(ren) with special needs often become overwhelming and costly: doctor visits, medical equipment and supplies, emergency room visits, psychiatric visits and hospitalizations, home health care assistance, and respite care for overwhelmed caregivers.

A significant portion of donations and sponsorships go to the overall operation of the organization, essential services and programs, family sponsorship and grant opportunities and educational courses and events from Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus, Ohio) and local organizations that provide services that come with a fee.

There is never a donation too large or too small because if we all do something, we can make and see the difference in our communities.

All donations are tax-deductible.

We are a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization

Water safety is especially important for children and adults with autism. Many autistic individuals are naturally drawn to water but may not recognize the risks it poses. Sadly, drowning is the leading cause of death among autistic people who wander.

Private swimming lessons can be a valuable first step in teaching life-saving skills and safety strategies in the water, while also creating a fun and enjoyable experience for the swimmer. The YMCA of Columbus offers private swim lessons designed to help your loved one build confidence and develop essential water safety skills.

Nehemiah's Place™ aims to offer year-round private swim lessons to families with loved ones on the spectrum.

Rainbow Equine Center is unique from other traditional riding facilities. Our desire is to make horses and horseback riding inclusive to individuals of all abilities.  We use principles of natural horsemanship to enhance self-awareness that allows for the rider to have connection and balance with the horse. These lessons teach skills that can be applied to everyday life .

Sensory Experiences

While many of our activities at Rainbow Equine Center are about learning how to steer, stop, and have fun on a horse, we provide other sensory stimulation. At the farm we provide sensory experiences that include painting of horses, grooming of horses, bathing of horses, and other animal interactions. By having these other activities of sensory input we can ensure that each individual continues to learn both on and off a horse. These additional activities aid in attention, speech, and motor and body awareness by using touch, movement and sound. We understand that some days are not riding days and want to provide as much stimulation to keep a keen focused mind.

*No age requirement or weight limit

Riding Lessons for Social-Emotional

Rainbow Equine Center offers private half-hour sessions to help manage emotional responses and open doors to improve recreational and performance goals. We focus on concepts of communication, timing, feel, creativity, consistency and rhythm. We are also trained to work with IEP goals if needed. We establish a foundation that empowers individuals to channel negative behaviors in a productive outlet. Additionally individuals will learn new life skills with a horse and create a satisfying relationship. *Lesson horses are provided.

*Lessons start at 4 years of age

*We have a weight limit of 220 pounds for various horses
